don't think your question is not important ask what you like and if we can help we will.
YOUR LICENCE
Without doubt the hardest thing some people find to understand is what we require from you about your licence BEFORE you can drive!!
If you have the "old style" licence and you are too tight to pay the £26 for the new one then we will need to see your licence and some i.d to prove its yours. Simple.
If you have the "new style" licence the cute little pink card with your picture on it then that's good identification wouldn't you agree? Your picture is on it already. Now here is the really hard bit, the GREEN paper you get with it tells us how bad you have been. If you have points for speeding (SP30 or SP50) then it will be on there along with everything else.
Can we ring the DVLA? Yes. The number is: 0906 139 38 37 its about £36 a minute, they wont talk to us unless you ring them first and say we are going to ring and enquire about your private life and the amount of points you have. Of course the DVLA is shut on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays. We open everyday!
The easiest thing would be to bring your full licence and identification.
Question 1: How much fuel will I need? Answer 1: how long is a piece of string? Roughly speaking the larger vehicles i.e. the Mercedes 311's will take about £75 to fill. They will do about 400 miles to this tank depending on weight and how you drive.........Transits are a bit cheaper taking £65 to fill but getting around the same mileage. (As of September 2006) Question 2: What size are the Mercedes 311's? Answer 2: Go and look at the vehicles section, all Mercedes 311's we run are LWB and therefore the sizes are the same despite the different spec. We are adding new vehicles weekly and trying to keep up but we have not filled all details in!! Question 3: If Im under 21 will I still be able to get on the insurance. Answer 3: Unfortunately no all drivers have to be over 21. *NOTE* Please see the exact wording on the page "our insurance policy" under this section. Question 4: Why do you make us sign a hire form? We rented recently and had nothing to sign and we were told if we are stopped don't say your a band!! Answer 4: Don't really think this needs answering, we are here and we have an office and a yard and a land line telephone number! Enough said. You can say your in a band as well even if your not! Question 5: What is an excess? Answer 5: An excess is put in place to stop any one individual with an insurance policy to not claim until the price of the repairs go above this figure. Therefore if someone with a brand new BMW gets a little scratch on the bonnet he will be more encouraged to get it fixed himself. Question 6: Is our gear insured? Answer 6: No, we have asked our insurers many times and the answer is always the same "can you ensure the vehicle is safely parked off the road at all times" Well no because someone decided clubs and other venues should be near a road and where people can actually find them.... Question 7: Can we go abroad? Answer 7: Yes if we get prior warning, the bad news is there is a surcharge for this of £18 per day plus vat. Sorry we just collect it. We do not put anything on it. We don't make the rules but we do our vehicles cheap enough to allow us to still be the most competitive, legitimate splitter bus company in the UK. Question 8: Why is a one day hire so difficult to secure? Answer 8: Because we never say "yes" unless we mean it. The last thing we want is you in our office saying bad swear words and kicking our cat. We will try, of course, however most tours are 2-3 weeks so our vehicles are usually tied up on those jobs. Sometimes we have a vehicle become available at late notice where some one cancels or comes back a day early. Of course during the quiet periods this is not a problem at Tiger Tours due to the massive amount of vehicles we run and the fact we will always try to cross hire a vehicle to sort your tour out. We will tell you this is going to happen where ever possible. *UPDATE: WE NOW HAVE THE LARGEST FLEET IN THE UK AND CAN COVER MOST JOBS GET IN TOUCH FOR A QUOTE * Question 9: Why the "Tiger" in Tiger Tours? Answer 9: There is a specific reason but few people know, to be fair not many people give a toss. Question 10: I'm arriving back late to London can I drop the vehicle off to save me getting up in the morning? Answer 10: Yes. With prior notice we can arrange to let you get a gate key, we have 24hrs security so everything is filmed and watched by an off site monitoring company, we will check the vehicle as soon as we come in the next day and report back if there is a problem with any damage etc, most people will let us know by text before it comes to this anyway even before we find the damage!! Question 11: How do you claim to know every mark on every vehicle? Answer 11: Well we just do, we treat our vehicles like little children, you know, like the ones that make trainers in Asia, the ones that work hard. We know when they are not happy and besides every mark gets a name! Question 12: Can you deliver? Answer 12: Yes we can. We can deliver by using our specialy adapted smart car that we tow after our splitter buses by using the tow bar. We can also arrange a delivery driver. Question 13: How much is delivery? Answer 13: A difficult question! If we were to deliver to Manchester we would work it out like this: Driver; any driver is going to want at least £80 this you can pay direct as we will just ask them on your behalf. Fuel to Manchester; £50 - £60 would be about right. Toll road £9.00 Train back £80 cab to the station!...........it soon add's up! With the smart Car in Tow we can reduce this as some of the smaller things can be reduced and of course if it's a long tour we could always do a deal........we love a deal!! Question 14: Can you collect? Answer 14: Can you read answer 13!! Question 15: Can we use your vehicles to go sking? Answer 15: NO. You must use little planks of wood on your feet. Only joking you should fill out our contacts form and we will get right back to you. Question 16: What time is it? Answer 16: ??
